THE THIRD VOICE

Three strong female voices, mainly unaccompanied, that weave, blend, caterwaul and serenade with new and pre-loved songs that will both challenge and soothe. Gemma Turner, Clarita Derwent and Christina Mimmocchi have followed various musical paths including songwriting, a cappella singing, fronting bands and choirs and confronting diverse musical settings. They share a love of voices in harmony and music for the body as well as the mind. The Third Voice was planning a first set of gigs and a recording when COVID struck. Undeterred, they met and recorded demos remotely, finally launching in December 2021 with a series of live gigs in Sydney at the Gaelic Club and The Loaded Dog Folk Club.

Remote recordings
During covid restrictions got busy recording demo tracks in our respective homes. Thank you to Amaru Jurado for mixing.
Las Panaderas. An old Spanish working song about a breadmaker. The pounding is the dough being worked by women sitting around the table.
Few Days (Christina Mimmocchi) featuring three voices and cello.
I Can't Slow Down (Andrew Winton, arr. Gemma Turner)
