Sing Your Heart Out started life as a project at Bayside Council for Seniors Week in 2016. At the end of the project, the choir refused to go away! We meet weekly in Arncliffe and everyone is welcome.
We sing a variety of music and recently embarked on a project called Bound for Botany Bay which we created with writer PP Cranney. In the project we looked at our local history and the effect on James Cook's landing in 1770. We performed the show at the La Perouse Museum in 2018 and again just recently and hope to develop the show more fully in time for 2020.
One of the great pleasures in putting this show together was writing the song "Elizabeth" with songwriter Karen Law whose wonderful album "A Point on the Map" is one of my all-time favourites. I feel very fortunate t have collaborated with her ... watch this space for more to come!
The choir is a happy bunch!
Lyall (with a "little dart") and Damien (as Captain Cook), relaxing after the show.
